A JPM Modern Magyar Képtár a Janus Pannonius Múzeum 12 kiállítóhelye közül talán a legnagyobb szabású. A magyar képzőművészet egyik legjelentősebb gyűjteményét őrzi, amely átfogó keresztmetszetet nyújt a tág értelemben vett 20. század kiemelkedő hazai alkotásaiból. A gondosan válogatott kollekciónk révén kulcsművekkel ismerhetjük meg az elmúlt bő évszázad művészeti fejlődését és sokszínűségét.
Az állandó kiállítás mellett az időszaki tárlatokat is bebarangolhatjuk – a két erre szolgáló kiállítótérben rendszeresen megújulnak a nagyobb életmű-bemutatók és az intimebb kamarakiállítások.
A Vasarely 2026 – Pécs jubileumi évben, a fél évszázados JPM Vasarely Múzeum megújítása idején az optikai illúziók mesterének művei március 22-ig új koncepcióban, a kiállítóhelytől mintegy 200 méterre, a JPM Modern Magyar Képtár nagy időszaki kiállítóterében láthatók. A válogatás a több száz darabos gyűjtemény olyan alkotásait is felvonultatja, amelyek korábban nem szerepeltek az állandó kiállításban, és a későbbiekben sem lesznek ott láthatók.
A kamarateremben pedig 2026. április 12-ig a Pécshez is kötődő jelentős cseh festőnő, Věra Jičinská művei láthatók.

The JPM Modern Hungarian Gallery is perhaps the most ambitious of the Janus Pannonius Museum’s twelve exhibition venues. It houses one of the most significant collections of Hungarian fine art, offering a comprehensive overview of outstanding national artworks from the broadly interpreted 20th century. Through our carefully curated selection, visitors can encounter key works that reveal the artistic development and diversity of the past century and beyond.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary shows can also be explored. The two dedicated exhibition spaces regularly host both major retrospectives and more intimate chamber exhibitions.
During the Vasarely 2026 – Pécs jubilee year, while the fifty-year-old JPM Vasarely Museum is undergoing renovation, works by the master of optical illusion are on view in a new concept until 22 March, in the large temporary exhibition hall of the JPM Modern Hungarian Gallery, located approximately 200 metres from the JPM Vasarely Museum. The selection includes works from the several-hundred-piece collection that have not previously been part of the permanent exhibition and will not be on display there in the future either.
Meanwhile, until 12 April 2026, the chamber exhibition space presents works by the significant Czech painter Věra Jičinská, who also had strong ties to Pécs.
