(Before the Storm: Taiwan on the Frontier of Past and Future)
A kiállítás különös hangsúlyt fektet az aktuális tendenciákra és azokra a művekre, amelyek bemutatják Tajvan tudományos és technológiai fejlődését, valamint azt a történelmi és társadalmipolitikai hátteret, amely Tajvan sajátos identitását és mai dinamikus, nyitott társadalmát formálta. A kiállítás 20 meghívott művész munkáin keresztül vet fel olyan aktuális témákat, mint az őslakosok öröksége, a természet, a hagyományok, a környezetvédelem, a gyarmatosítás kulturális hatásai, a 19–20. század viharos történelme és traumái, a modern demokrácia és a tajvani identitás kialakulása, a modern társadalom értékei és kultúrája vagy Tajvan a jövőben: modernizáció, gazdasági fejlődés, új technológiák.

The exhibition focuses on current trends and works that showcase Taiwan’s scientific and technological development, as well as the historical and socio-political context that has shaped Taiwan’s unique identity and its dynamic, open society today. Through the works of twenty invited artists, the exhibition explores a number of topical themes: indigenous heritage, nature, traditions, environmental protection, the cultural impact of colonialism, the turbulent history and traumas of the 19th and 20th centuries, the emergence of modern democracy and Taiwanese identity, the values and culture of modern society, or Taiwan in the future: modernisation, economic development, new technologies.
